Crepe Myrtle Advice Needed: Healthy Growth but Not Filling Out
Any advice for my Crepe myrtle ? It’s 4 years in this spot. It’s near a sprinkler head. I haven’t trimmed it, I wanted it to grown in. It’s comes back in the spring. I just wished it filled in more.

The more you trim the bushier they get
Time to trim but not too much - that’s crepe murder. Trim 1/2 to 3/4 of those branches. This is the time of year to do it.
I agree trim it back to the trunk it will flourish. The more you trim it the more it will fill in.
Looks like it's possibly too close to the hibiscus 🌺. Near a sprinkler head doesn't tell me much. Too much water 🤔, not enough? Fertilized st all? It's deciduous so its natural it would be leafless this time of year.
That is a Hibiscus. And. It needs to be cut back but not this time off year. Wait until these cold spells are gone. Fertilize it too when you cut it back. YouTube how to cut back. It's pretty easy. I cut mine square. The more often you cut them back the thicker/fuller they will get.
Cut it back after February 14th.
Do I have to be careful which branches I cut back?
Trim the ends off in early spring. Feed it , not too much water. Is it in full sun?
I would just chop it all the way back
what type of Crape is it? Some of the newer ones are dwarf and they grow very slow and only get 10 feet or so and that takes years.
January is the best time to trim it....but maybe wait until today's cold snap is gone away. you can trim it flat top, or shape it so the top is rounded. IT's good to cut branches that are crossing, or rubbing against each other.
Trim it
I think they go dormant this time of year
